Billy Idol + Vampire Weekend

Submitted by on Wednesday, 15 September 2010No Comment

What better way to buck off New York Fashion Week than with a bit of the 80s glamster Billy Idol! Although it’s been a few years since we were sickened and left totally limp by Billy’s Christmas album (gotta pay the rent), we must admit that if Billy offered a nsa tea bagging session, we would be much obliged…in honor of his English heritage of course. Check out some of his greatest hits tonight like Cradle of Love, Dancing With Myself, Eyes Without a Face, White Wedding and Mony Mony!

Hammerstein Ballroom (at the Manhattan Center), 311 W 34th St bet Eighth and ninth Aves, NYC, 212-279-7740, 8pm, $45-$65

Vampire Weekend

NYC’s fav Upper West Side rich kids band, who frequently channel Congolese music, are coming back downtown (halfway), performing tracks from current sophomore album Contra. Check out lead singer Ezra’s school film project trailer (below) which was the inspiration for the band’s name…multimedia talents indeed!.

Radio City Music Hall, 1260 Ave of the Americas at 50th St, NYC, 212-247-4777, 8pm, $39.50
