Psychedelic poppers Klaxons return to NYC with follow up album Surfing the Void, featuring single Echoes. Apparently, this album was originally slated to be something totally different that was flately denied by their label. The end result (a “compromise” as they call it) was a more accessible sound than the nu rave racket they were known for on releases like Gravity’s Rainbow, Golden Skans and Magick. It’s kinda like what happened to MGMT…not sure yet if it’s the dawn of a new day or Doomsday. LA synth popband Baby Monster opens.
