The French are not known for being punk, they are usually perceived as finely tuned, chic, crafted and calculated, often found hiding behind robot masks and of-the-moment flashing gifs. But France has begat two new stars, meandering far from the automated electronics of Daft Punk, Justice and the EdBanger posse. Ladies, gentlemen and robots alike, please welcome Kap Bambino!
Kap Bambino are punk. Stage diving their way towards you with juggernaut like thrust, vocalist Caroline Martial can be quite scary, trust me – I have witnessed, been there and got the bruise. Once head-butting me on the way through she proceeded to be elevated a-top of a heaving wave of human mosh. Being stick-thin she wasn’t a heavy load to bear but even if she were the size of a house the energy from the music would have acted as pain killer. A cataclysmic, riotous orgy of speed the music grabs you, spins you around and flings you into the sky with elastic ease. With Live shows like these Caroline and laptop wizard Orion Bouvier, the other half of this terrible twosome, have built up a worldwide cult status with fans willing to queue around cities for the chance to drink from their energy.
