Watch Now: Erykah Badu Does a Sneak Street Show in NYC…Nobody Notices!
Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Erykah Badu took to the streets of NYC recently for a little experimental busking! Except for a couple of girls that recognized Badu’s iconic 10 gallon hat (at beginning of video), she went completely unrecognized on the corner of 42nd St and Sixth Ave, in Times Square. “In no way is this video a reflection of my feelings about homeless or unfortunate families, nor individuals who have no other means of survival in our world”, says Badu.”Instead, this short film was shot w/ my iPhone and edited in iMovie for entertainment purposes only and serves as a personal ‘hustle’ experiment for me.” The stunt (and all her impromptu Baduizms) grossed the singer a whopping $3.60! Perhaps next time she should sing Bag Lady.
