Fagget Fairys are here to get your feet moving and your ears tingling with big grimy basslines, sensual vocals, and saucy balkan styles. It’s a true lesbian love story.

Fagget Fairys is the story of the 19 year old Ena – model, club kid, and all-around bad ass – who after a brief meeting at the Copenhagen nightclub, Vega- fell hard for the DJ, Carla Cammilla Hjort aka DJ Sensimilla, ten years her senior. She fell so hard in fact, that in an attempt to impress, she stage dived from the DJ booth right onto a beer bottle, leading to 15 stitches and a busted knee.

At the time, Carla Cammilla was already in a relationship, and Ena’s muslim upbringing remained a limiting factor in her life. But neither their love, nor their music, could be denied- and two years after that fateful evening, they are engaged to be married, and ready with their smash debut full length album Feed The Horse, recorded and produced in New York City with Grammy award-winning Rasmus Bille Bahncke (aka Popdaddy) as lead producer.

Bahncke, whose resume includes production work and songwriting for Doctor John, Backstreet Boys and Shaznay Lewis of UK supergroup All Saints, first discovered Fagget Fairys at a gig at The Knitting Factory in NYC. Blown away by the hardcore bouncy sets and energetic performance by the two girls, Bahncke suggested a studio session. Two days later the single ‘Feed The Horse’ was put to tape, marking the beginning of a dysfunctional musical journey for the three. The distinct musical taste and style of Carla Camilla developed through years as a professional DJ in the clubscape of Berlin, Paris and Copenhagen, Ena’s inspired and unique flowing, Balkan style vocal and lyrics, combined with Bahncke’s knowledge and experience in how to produce a hit song, are what make this album the ever elusive club/pop crossover album. Feed the Horse is a true-school club album with the texture and delicateness of its genre’s contemporaries, and yet also manages to be a solid pop album full of catchy riffs, organic instruments, and varied melodic structure.

For the past six years, Carla has lived and worked as a professional DJ in Copenhagen. With her art-music-fashion collective ArtRebels, the annual 3 day music festival she started Trailer Park Festival, as well as her no-nonsense approach to cultural progress, she’s become known as one of the most catalytic and creative forces in Copenhagen.

Ena arrived in a Danish refugee camp as a young child, after her parents were forced to flee a crumbling Yugoslavia, in the midst of civil war. Despite her young age, she has already managed to live her life as a successful runway model, handball player, high school drop out. And yet, despite all of her success, she remains the black sheep of her family.

Together, Fagget Fairys have impressed crowds from all over the place – from New York City to Berlin, from Copenhagen to Paris, and everywhere in between. Carla Cammilla’s superb mixing and knob twiddling and Ena’s untouchable vocal performances tear down club after club, and leave fans in love. With their debut EP, Samo Ti, released in 2008 by New York label Palms Out Sounds, and featuring remixes from club darlings Drop the Lime and AC Slater, the Fairys’ rumored full length debut became a hot ticket, and it was quickly snatched up by Danish club-icon Kenneth Bager, for his Music For Dreams imprint.

Fagget Fairys are an explosive cocktail of lesbianism, true love, and relentless beats. They’re sure to make your feet move and to put a smile on your face. Enjoy!
