SAN DIEGO, – According to a report via Facebook a drag performer was attacked outside Rich’s following the show called “Euphoria” early Sunday morning.

The victim, known as Kickxy Vixen-Styles posted that the assailant tried to sneak into the club earlier that night, but was escorted outside by security.

Vixen-Styles greets people at the club and is used to seeing unruly patrons handled by security, but wasn’t prepared for what happened to her next.

She claims that the rejected man waited in the parking lot for her after her shift; about 3:30 am, and that’s when things turned physical.

She tells SDGLN, “I’m done for the night and I’m walking to my car when all of a sudden he’s behind me and I try to get in my car but it was too late he grabs my door open, and at that point I’m stuck between my door and him slamming it against me and trying to break my window.”

Still distraught and shaken, Vixen-Styles recalls that her screaming went ignored by the crowds of people who were leaving the night club, “A group of four trans girl(s) just sat across the street watching instead of getting help.”

One quick thinking bystander did take notice and alerted Rich’s security team about the situation.

Vixen-Styles didn’t suffer any major physical injuries, but is still shaken and confused from the incident.

“You would think that in your community people would take care of each other,” she posted. “I know that if I were to see something like that I would intervene and get help. Please be safe out there and take care of each other.”

The Hillcrest area has been the site of a few attacks on LGBT people within the last year. On January 24, of this year, William Frank Kidney was walking home from the same nightclub and was ambushed by a man who beat him so severely he was sent to the hospital.

You may also remember the story of local Timothy Caudill who last February sustained serious injuries when a man stabbed him five times after he stepped in to help another patron at the Hillcrest bar “The Eagle.”

Vixen-Styles told SDGLN that her injuries were more emotional due to the lack of any assistance from the multitude of people watching the attack transpire, “I just felt so helpless and in a way just let down by the people around.”

The victim says that the police were not called, and that the security staff handled the attacker once they were alerted to the incident.

SDGLN asked Vixen-Styles to describe her attacker:

“He was mid to late 20’s , Middle Eastern I think, black hair, goatee, about 5’10 to 6’0. Regular built,” she said. (via San Diego Gay & Lesbian News)
