Entitled Doll Parts, the book will contain photographs of Lepore and chronicle her youth and rise to fame, from her childhood as a biological boy who knew he was female, to her relationship with her mentally ill mother, to her struggles to get along with a father who was not at all comfortable with his son being trans.

There will be not holding back: Lepore said the memoir will also be about her fledgling attempts at romantic relationships, and the way she financed her first surgeries by selling pasties to strippers. She will go into her abusive marriage, and tell readers about that horrible time her father-in-law, who paid for her gender confirmation surgery, turned around and sexually assaulted her.

Lepore bravely walked away from her disfunctional marriage and became a fixture in the New York nightclub scene, where she blossomed and became muse to artists such as David LaChapelle. In Doll Parts, she will finally shed light on her one-of-a-kind life story. (via Out Magazine)
