#OrlandoUnited: Last Night’s Vigil & Rally at Stonewall Inn NYC
Sheridan Square, in front of The Stonewall Inn, was packed with mourners, supporters and activists last night, at the vigil for the victims who died in Sunday’s mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, at Pulse night club. Many spoke about ending homophobia and transphobia, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo who said there needs to be “sensible gun control”. It’s time to stop passing the blame onto religious groups and government rhetoric. At some point, we have to face the fact that this was a crime based on prejudice, hiding under the mask of radical Islam. Hate is hate, regardless of where you come from, where you were born, or to which god you pray to. (Pics by Santiago Felipe)
