#MustSee: Lady Bunny’s “Trans-Jester” Show Returns To Stonewall Inn NYC!!!

Submitted by on Sunday, 23 April 2017No Comment

The anti-moralist and BEYOND reproach, drag superstar, Lady Bunny is bringing back her comedic hit show Trans-Jester to the landmark Stonewall Inn in NYC, for the month of May! The raved about production, which enjoyed a sold-out run last year, returns with new, rowdier topics and miscreant acts, including insightful commentary/jabs at Donald Trump, United Airlines and Caitlyn Jenner’s sex change surgery. Trans-Jester runs every Tuesday in May at 7pm. Tickets are available HERE, or by calling 212-488-2705.

In Trans-Jester, Bunny delivers plenty of side-splitting Laugh-In style zingers. She has also widened her repertoire to include new parodies which re-work selections from Adele (who, in an interview with Vogue Magazine, named Bunny as an inspiration for her look), Rent and Bruno Mars. In an unabashedly vulgar version of Uptown Funk, Bunny asks pertinent questions about cultural appropriation prior to declaring her undying love for black cock.

In a world that’s gone mad with PC word police, Bunny frames everything in the context of “What can we still laugh at?” Says Bunny, “We’re so politically correct that we’ve made Dick Van Dyke change his name to Penis Van Lesbian.” Bunny seldom delves into actual politics since one train-wreck is enough, but she fearlessly takes on gender politics.

The evening resurrects songs by country star Lynn Anderson, Millie Jackson and even an original tune that pokes fun at the dating life of (whatever sex it is you want to call this “Lady”). In her long career in nightclubs, Bunny has rarely incorporated show tunes into her act, but in Trans-Jester, she performs a scandalous Caitlyn Jenner version of My Favorite Things and then brings it all home with a show-stopping finale featuring two classics from Gypsy and Follies.
