#MustSee: Queer | Art “Summer of Resistance” Film Series NYC
Here’s your chance to get woke to your queer consciousness! Queer | Art– the organization that fosters confident expression of LGBTQ artists’ perspectives, stories, and identities- is hosting a series of films selected by activists and politically engaged collectives. Throughout the summer (starting Monday, May 8), you can visit the IFC Center in NYC and get more history about some of the LGBTQ pioneers and advocates that started the Resistance Movement, long before it became a hashtag. Featured films include The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975, Southwest of Salem: The Story of The San Antonio Four, The Salt Mines & The Transformation, and A Glass and a Cigarette.
