“I’m a professional costume designer and translator, speak 7 languages, and I’m a total geek!
When I was 14 y/o, I started to cosplay. As the queer geek kid I was, the hobby seemed to be the perfect way to put everything I loved the most together…video games, costuming, performing and craftsmanship. In over 15 years of cosplay, I became 4 times world champion and could travel to over 20 countries as a guest in geek conventions from all over the world…from Dubai to the USA, from Japan to Colombia. But after all this time, there was nothing else I could do in the hobby anymore. The performances became so literal. There’s no space for creativity anymore. So, I felt like I needed something else. Then it came…drag!
Three years ago, my best friend introduced me to RuPaul’s Drag Race, and a whole new world of possibilities opened up in front of my eyes. I saw that maybe with the drag, I could be the best version of myself…and then Slovakia came out! The idea of having my own original character, with no specific gender attached to it, yet still being able to embody different characters, is no less than amazing! Finally, I can be that Final Fantasy/ Bollywoodian / eccentric character I’ve always wanted to be!
I’ve chosen this name because my family came from the Slovakian Republic, fleeing from the war in the early 40’s, and started their lives from the scratch here. I do admire their bravery and guts so much…so, it makes me be a better person on a daily basis.”
