“I started doing looks about 7 years ago when I used to sneak into clubs underage in North Carolina (I’m from there). All my friends were older and most of them were makeup artists and/or hairstylists, so they would always get done up before we went out and I, of course, got caught in the crossfire of glamour. At the same time I was sneaking into these clubs, I was going to school for fashion marketing. My education required me to do tons of research on current and past runway shows, so my passion for all things editorial came to a head when I bought my first makeup palette and pair of heels. I dabbled in looks on and off for the next couple of years; but once I moved to New York City three years ago, it lit a fire inside of me to keep pushing myself creatively and honestly wear whatever the fuck I want… but on another level.

My inspiration is derived mainly from all of the whimsical and fantasy runways and editorials I’m always looking at. Works from Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, Iris Van Herpen, Margiela, and other designers all play pivotal roles in my ever-changing style. I also always have to give props to all of the NY nightlife creatives who came before me because they’ve inspired me to do what I do. I don’t really have a signature look (other than having colored hair). I try to be as versatile with my looks as I can while staying true to being myself instead of a character.
I have a few projects coming up…some are hush hush, so I can’t say much…but one I can talk about is the editorials for Pol Kurucz that I’ve been working on. I find myself in front of the camera more often than not; but lately, I’ve been behind the scenes as a stylist for Pol’s NY- based shoots. It’s super eye-opening seeing all aspects of the editorial world!”
