“Drag, for me, is really about finding and showcasing power in all of the things I was told made me weak throughout my life…and living the fantasy of the female characters that shaped my youth. When I was really young; and didn’t know what being gay meant, I didn’t think I was allowed to like boys. So, I created an alter ego for myself, whom I named Tiffany, that I could imagine being with all the boys I was crushing on, and I would draw her all the time. The name stuck because I’ve always been super drawn to powerful femininity, and I couldn’t tell you why ‘Tiffany’ has always really exuded that to me. ‘Diamond’ then comes from my love of old Hollywood glamour and film…but I am also really inspired by designer dolls…and if Tiffany Diamond doesn’t sound like the name of the doll you keep in a collectors’ box on a top shelf, I don’t know what does…haha!
