Brick By Brick: Lego Brick Sculpture + Love Is All + Crystal Stilts + Beachniks
SATURDAY 27
Brick By Brick: Lego Sculpture Exhibition
Artist Nathan Sawaya has taken a childhood fascination with a ubiquitous building block and transformed it into a captivating artistic medium. Sawaya constructs large-scale sculptures with LEGO bricks, utilizing their multifarious shapes and brilliant colors to create a wide range of subjects including desserts, planets, pop culture icons, and even a life-sized self-portrait. Sawaya, though working with a decidedly unyielding medium, is able to create expressionist images that affect lithe curves and forms.
