The UKs fav lo-fi, furtive pop band The xx have made it famous with not even one song that you can even remotely dance to…and unlike other desperate pop stars that wear coke cans in their hair, xx keep it stripped down with simple relationship tunes, all black everything looks and a drum machine. The interesting part is that they supposedly are influenced by modern R&B, we have yet to make that connection (there is unrecognizable cover version of Aaliyah’s Hot Like Fire on the CD)…maybe they’re into a different kind of R&B across the pond. Hopefully all will become clear at their DJ set tonight, right after live show with Hot Chip at Terminal 5.
