Ginger Gets Brains Blown Out in M.I.A. Video

You’ve probably already seen the new M.I.A video for single Born Free that comments on genocide, racial profiling and discrimination…and you’ve probably heard all the talk about how it’s too violent for YouTube, being that a bus load of redhead boys are carted off to a desert and then massacred, including a 12 y/o boy actor Ian Hamrick (who looks 9!) who had his brains splattered by a 9mm Glock! Here’s what that boy has to say about all the hoopla and what message he thinks M.I.A’s trying to get across: I guess she was trying to show violence to end violence…the video was definitely not for kids, I haven’t even seen the full video myself, but…for all the adults in different countries who are doing the genocides in real life…it’s showing violence to end it, showing what it really means. What’s really interesting is that we spent quite a lot of time in the UK and there really is this deep-rooted hatred for redheads…not that that’s what M.I.A. is literally referring to, but it’s just another layer. We actually find the spekled boys hot and would never advocate harming their little Chili peppers!
