Hometown: NYC, USA

The Virgins formed in 2006, Downtown New York City. They are the brain child of vocalist Donald Cumming, childhood muse of photographer Ryan McGinley, who chronicled Cummings riotous teenage years gallivanting around the backstreets in NYC, a feral and rebellious existence that persists in The Virgins music today. McGinley’s documentation of Cummings youth can be seen now at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

The Virgins, currently loose in the UK touring with The Pigeon Detectives are about to release the lead single Private Affair from their much anticipated debut album, due to hit the shelves in March.
Vice Magazine, the biblezine for art-house rebels, are quoted to have stated, “We’re jealous of their future” which sums up the atmosphere of hype around the band.

Single Private Affair due to be released January 26th on Atlantic Records
Available via iTunes
