Ratatat Dj Set + Air France DJ Set + ARP + We Are Scientists + Lightspeed Champion

SATURDAY 17

Ratatat DJ Set + Air France DJ Set + ARP

Brooklyn duo Ratatat are mighty electro-lite guys. Basically, they use all the equipment that other electro acts rely on, but without the disco dance beats… a perfect soundtrack for the clinically insane, just before fleeting moments of lucidity. Today, they join disco dub Swedes Air France and ARP in a tea time DJ battle in a gallery. Guess this is how the intelligentsia get down!

P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, 22-25 Jackson Ave, at 46th Ave, Long Island City, New York, 718-784-2084, 2pm, $15

We Are Scientists + Lightspeed Champion

We Are Scientists are one of those nerdy bands that have somehow managed to survive the in the post apocalypse of indie guitar boy bands…and bringing in Razorlight‘s drummer Andy Burrows doesn’t exactly bode well for reinvention. But, the night is not a total Deja…The little outcast that could, aka Lightspeed Champion, comes to the rescue with some sonnets of fantasy and heartbreak…sounds like a downer, but it’s pretty dope!

Music Hall of Williamsburg, 66 North 6th St bet Wythe and Kent Aves, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 718-486-5400, 10pm, $17
