THURSDAY 17

Datarock + Esser + JDH and Dave P + Karin Park

datarock

Norwegian electro rock band Datarock (pictured) hit big on the indie/nu dance scence a few years back with songs Fa Fa Fa and Computer Camp Love. Now they’re back with album Red. Joining in on the fun, UK hottie Esser plays new tracks Headlock and Work It Out. JDH and Dave P and Karin Park support.

Highline Ballroom, 431 W 16th St bet Ninth and Tenth Aves, NYC, 212-414-5994, 9pm, $17, www.myspace.com/datarock

The Horrors + Crocodiles

horrors

The fashionably goth looking UK band The Horrors have managed to bridge the gap between the nistas and the Siouxsies. Although they may look a bit depressed in a Sisters of Mercy kinda way, their sophomore album Primary Colours has brought in the etherealness of Portishead’s Geoff Barrow and the creativeness of video director Chris Cunningham…the result, pure, accessible shoegaze…who knew they had a softer side! San Diego duo Crocodiles open.
