It\u2019s been known for some time that a fully-realised\u00a0collaboration<\/a> between composer\u00a0Arca<\/a> and\u00a0Hood By Air <\/a>boss Shayne Oliver is out there. In conversation with\u00a0Shayne Oliver for Dazed\u2019s spring issue<\/a>\u00a0cover story<\/a>, Arca said: \u2018We have dozens of songs. Forty to fifty tracks. Shayne is doing vocals \u2013 it\u2019s a combination of chanting and singing and rap. There wasn\u2019t any conversation. It was completely spontaneous.\u201d As yet, there\u2019s no word on when the album drops, but we\u2019re pleased to be able to premiere a Wench track today, available as a free download.<\/p>\n

Spoiler: \u201cSick\u201d is beautiful. A floating, detuned melody backs up Oliver\u2019s alien, lovesick vocals that appear to reach out to a distant lover, both jilted yet defiant. Oliver says he draws influence from the freedom of sensuality, sexuality and liberating his soul.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of it comes from chanting and mantras,\u201d he says. \u201cLetting up my soul. I think, more than anything else, the beats that were selected were very sexy. You know what I mean? And I reacted to that. They are sexy chants.
