RuPaul’s Drag Race star Latrice Royale<\/a><\/strong> gives a stellar performance in Here’s To Life<\/em>, originally sung by jazz legend\u00a0Shirley Horn<\/a><\/strong> and Barbra Streisand<\/strong>, the first single off her anthemic debut album. The consummate showgirl stays true to Horns’ original sentiment of survival, singing about\u00a0growing up gay in the gang-infested streets of Compton, her stint in prison, survival, and her transformation into the grand dame that she is today.<\/p>\n

Ella Fitzgerald<\/strong> is clearly the queen of jazz. I have always loved her and Della Reese<\/strong> and have lip-synched to quite a bit of their music. \u00a0Shirley Horn and Shirley Bassey<\/strong> are also favorites and had a lot to do with the shaping this project.\u00a0My hope is that fans will put this record on in the background with a glass of wine and a nice meal with a candle and a lover. It\u2019s very casual listening that runs the gamut from the whore house to the church house, so everybody should be able to find something they enjoy.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
