“Yuri Guaii, birthed in a drag room of sewing experiments and the underground drag scene of New Zealand – she is beauty and grace mixed with the nightmare that still haunts your childhood.<\/p>\n

I created Yuri as an outlet to show off a more creative and dark side of myself. As a kid, I was always labelled as the \u2018weird\u2019 kid and I knew I wasn\u2019t like everyone else. I was shy and awkward, but getting the chance to create a new look every weekend and perform at clubs has pushed me to be more outgoing, and helped me to become more centered and comfortable with who I am. Even though drag has stolen all my money, Yuri has given me the opportunity to prove to others, but mostly to myself, that I\u2019m good at something and pushes me to strive to be the best.<\/div>\n

Yuri is a one of a kind “plus size model”\u00a0that can\u2019t walk in heels. Whether she\u2019s camp, spooky or playing out a story on stage, she moves too much but also too little… and her weird sense of humor can barely be understood over her cries of ‘Help Me! I\u2019m Poor’. Inspired by the likes of Trixie Mattel<\/strong><\/a>, Bettie Bitch<\/strong><\/a>, Raven<\/strong><\/a> and pop culture, she\u2019s beautiful and fashionable, with a face beat to the “Gods”. Even though I’ve\u00a0only been in the game for just over 2 years, Yuri holds the crown of Queen of Queens<\/em>, and is the two time winner of NZ\u2019s drag competition Drag Wars<\/strong><\/a>.<\/div>\n
