“I am a fashion photographer, performance artist, and a queer LGBTQ activist. My name Monarx<\/em> is inspired by the butterfly who transforms from something small into something beyond. I started doing drag from birth. When I was a kid, I always loved dressing up and playing with makeup. In the midst of the awkward middle school and high school years, I suffered from Alopecia and lost my hair. During that formative time, I learned how to make wigs and play with makeup. Looking different, in a way you can’t control, makes you feel alienated. So, I took control, and I found liberation is being able to transform myself into anything I wanted with fashion. I’ve always been really inspired by more unconventional drag and draw a lot of references from the character Queen Amidala<\/strong> from Star Wars. It would be criminal if I didn’t say\u00a0Bj\u00f6rk<\/strong>, Nick Knight<\/strong>, and Alexander McQueen<\/strong> influenced me heavily.<\/p>\n

As far as the future, I want to take everything to the next level. I just revamped my Instagram, and currently use it as my little gallery to tell the story of Monarx. I have been taking some time away from NYC to really be in a quiet place; away from stimulus, so I could hear my mind. I’m working on developing Monarx the character, and have been working on short conceptual films + original sounds. Monarx brings all my skill sets together into one cohesive lifelong project.<\/div>\n

I just signed with a new agency \u00a0in NYC. I can’t talk about yet. It’s being launched by a nightlife legend that represents freaks like me in modeling, and as a performer. I’m just getting started… and ready to land back in NYC any minute.<\/div>\n

Above all, I’m continuing my fight for civil rights. I work with queer youth as a mentor in empowerment and organizing the resistance in this backwards time. Together we can change the world…join me, and stay tuned!”<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

With a name like Dior, the perceived value of the brand would make some people pay thousands of dollars for this jacket. This jacket isn't real and I bought at a thrift store for $3 with the fake Dior logo already embroidered. Challenge your perceptions, challenge your reality.<\/a><\/p>\n
