\"\"<\/a>Dutch fashion designer Bas Kosters<\/b><\/a>\u00a0recently presented his Fall\/Winter 2017 collection My Paper Crown<\/em>\u00a0at Amsterdam Fashion Week. Not only is Kosters one of the quirkiest designers in Europe these days, he’s a critical thinker, as seen in his 2012 Ugly Collection<\/a>, where he examined ‘What is beauty vs ugliness’. He’s also an avid doll collector…which would explain why he’s a HUGE fan of WOWlebrity Mx Qwerrrk<\/strong><\/a> (She recently wore one of his creations at RuPaul’s DragCon<\/a>). His latest collection continues his tradition and obsession with\u00a0anthropomorphic looks, with many of the outfits donning character faces that have become synonymous with Kosters’ style. In this collection, Kosters wanted to emphasize the importance of inclusivity, and how imperative it is to approach each other with an open mind. Everybody deserves an honest chance in life…and a bit of frivolity and fashion makes it just that more awesome!<\/p>\n

“The inspiration for this expressive collection comes from different eras and continents, combining rococo and traditional African costumes with workman\u2019s clothes. The title of the collection, My Paper Crown, also reflects on the importance of showing attention. After all, a paper crown is just as important as any other crown. The show told the story of a village celebrating ‘Carrot Day’. A group of workers made preparations for the parade in which the eccentrics from the village presented themselves to the world. This parade formed the actual fashion show.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
