Fresh off a mega-performance, which included an 11-piece choir, at New Orleans Jazz Fest recently, the Queen of Bounce, Big\u00a0Freedia<\/b> <\/a>has announced the June 1 release of her upcoming EP on Asylum Records,\u00a03rd Ward Bounce<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Aerobic, ceaseless and a touch more mainstream than prior releases, the EP has all the signifiers of Freedia\u2019s brand of Bounce\u2014throbbing instrumentals, booming vocals, frenetic handclaps\u2014with even sharper songwriting that pushes her sound into new territory. Lead single Rent<\/em> is all attitude, rebuffing the type of people who occupy a space in your mind (watch \u201cRent\u201d here), while Karaoke<\/em> featuring Lizzo<\/strong> pounds along with robust horns, intended to become the freewheeling type of anthem that soundtracks a night out of singing. Elsewhere, the Goldiie-assisted \u201cPlay\u201d nods to the \u201cslay\u201d echoed on Freedia\u2019s \u201cFormation\u201d collab with Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong>, and \u201cBomb\u201d plays like a chest-thump, a nod to all that Freedia\u2019s accomplished.<\/p>\n
