Animal Collective<\/em><\/strong> describes their music as ‘sonic, freeform, electronic, horror, gospel, hip-hop, soul, pop madness’…which could mean just about anything. After being alternatively present for the last decade, AC had a hit again in 2009 with single My Girls <\/em>from the Merriweather Post Pavillion<\/em> album. Tonite, two of the band’s members (Brian Weitz and Dave portner) attempt to pull off a smashing DJ set at the One Step Beyond<\/em> party, presented by The Fader <\/em>magazine.<\/p>\n

The kids over at The Bunker <\/em>have been doing techno soooo long, it’s actually back in style! The original sequencer and synth sound came out of Detroit (although it’s a common misconception that the Europeans were the pioneers…wrong!!!) and at tonight’s big b-day blow out, DJs Luke Hess and Patrick Russell are being flown in (economy) from Motown to lend some credibility. And of course…the Euros…Newworldaquarium<\/em>, Legowelt <\/em>and newcomer Kadebostan<\/em> from Geneva…and local heroes and hosts Derek Plaslaiko<\/em><\/strong> and Spinoza<\/em><\/strong> take turns tweeking the microprocessed crowd.<\/p>\n
