NYC based photog Roderick Angle<\/a> has been on the scene for over a decade, publishing images in mags like Spin, Details and Surface, as well as working with fashion design companies Pepe Jeans<\/em>, XOXO <\/em>and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s hipster line Elizabeth and James<\/em>. Now he’s made the leap from pics to video with new project About Themselves<\/strong>. “This project was born out of shame and regret. So many interesting people have come in and out of my studio over the years. It could be for a meeting, a casting, a party…..whatever. Many times, I never got to photograph these people and a record of their existence was never created. I always thought that the shear diversity of the people that I get to meet is one of the most fascinating parts of my job. I’m embarrassed to think back and realize that I have no proof. That is why I decided to start this project.”<\/p>\n

“With the About Themselves project I am creating video portraits of the people that I meet along the way. The only requirement for being included is that I find the person fascinating. The interview portion is based on the Proust Questionnaire. All interviewees are asked the same questions in the same manner. The goal is to take a scientific, objective approach to creating a portrait of a person.”<\/p>\n
