The Emperor’s New Codpiece

Set during Medieval times, The Emperor’s New Codpiece cheerfully shuns historical accuracy as the curtain rises on the Castle Club, the top “night spot for fops” in all the land.  When the drag royalty is replaced by peasant go-go dancers, surviving queen Melinda (played by Simpson) must come up with a scheme to sabotage the dancers.  Forsooth!  Magic fabric to the rescue!

The play is directed by Tim Cusack (artistic director of Theatre Askew) and the cast includes Linda Simpson, Nicholas Gorham, Patrick Johnson, Michelle Ojeda and Buenaventura Rodriguez.

The Bunker

Tonight, Peter Van Hoesen makes his second appearance at The Bunker. Peter is one of the artists who really defined techno over the past couple years. Prolific with pumping out amazing tunes and podcasts, his music really speaks for itself. Peter is now considered a resident at the Labyrinth festival in Japan, where he will be appearing for the fourth time in row this September. He also regularly appears at Berghain in Berlin and has a residency for his label, Time to Express, at the legendary Fuse club in his hometown of Brussels. Peter’s five hour set at The Bunker was so amazing last year that we decided to give him the entire eight hours this time around. Check out his music HERE.
