“I’m a gender-bending, queer, performance artist and drag queen. When I was 20, I used to go to Escuelita (RIP), and seeing some of the queens there and the shows really inspired me to create my drag character. My drag has never been about female impersonating. It was about discovering other aspects of who Rify was and bringing them to life. I love when genders kinda mash together. I throw a monthly party called Straight Acting and I try to welcome all forms of drag. Catch the next Straight Acting on October 27th at Metropolitan Bar in Brooklyn.”
