“I’m a visual designer and during my college years I was very into fashion…so, most of my class projects were related to fashion and photography. I learned how to do makeup and sew. After graduating, I was between jobs and I decided to experiment with makeup on myself and my drag started to grow and get some recognition.

Drag here in Colombia is a very small scene, but I’ve gotten lots of recognition for my makeup skills. I’ve been a Face Awards finalist twice and now I’m teaching makeup classes… drag makeup of course.

I’ve opened shows for various Ru girls…even traveled doing so. So, drag is going to stay in my life for a long time I think. And the best part is that I always spread a message of empowerment, respect and how political drag is in all my public appearances.”

En el camino me encontré con @julianzapatarincon y fue uno de esos momentos: “con gran poder vienen grandes responsabilidades” y aprendí que podía tener una voz, que no solo estaba en el derecho, sino en la obligación de hablar, de visibilizar las luchas mías y de otrxs que vinieron antes de mi, y me permiten ser y hacer lo que soy hoy. Hacer flexible mi masculinidad me hizo más fuerte, y reconocer mi feminidad me permitió y empoderarme y sentirme cómodo y feliz en mi cuerpo. Ojalá hubiera sabido estas cosas antes.
