“Well, hello there! My name is Pretentious Dross (or just Dross for short). If you’re my mate, you can call me P. Diddy. I’m Liverpool’s self-proclaimed Art-House Witch – pretentious by name and by nature!

I call what I do ‘meta-drag’- because it kinda references itself, and weaponizes the aesthetics of drag in a snake- eating-its-own-tail kinda way. YUM YUM! Dross is always gorgeous, slightly alienating, and the audience is always in on the joke with her…nudge nudge…wink wink.

After finishing my Ph.D. in memes and performance in 2017, I started co-producing EAT ME– a radical, inclusive and queer AF club night for LGBTIA+ folks based in Liverpool. Before the apocalypse, I performed in clubs, galleries and theatres across the U.K., spreading my slightly surrealist but always magical brand of drag, like the bast*rd seed of Baudrillard. I’m currently working on a one-queen touring show that talks openly and honestly about drag, mental health and my journey of self-acceptance as a queer person.”
