Location: Los Angeles, California
About:
“Dakota Noot is a Los Angeles-based artist and professor. He uses drawings, paintings, and installations to create animal-human hybrids that explore rural, yet fantastical, queer identities. Noot’s most recent work features crayon and color pencil drawings taped to his body to transform it beyond species and gender. Originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, he continues to show in both North Dakota and Los Angeles, including solo shows at Art Produce, Highways Performance Space, and MuzeuMM. Noot has exhibited in group shows at Charlie James Gallery, Shoshana Wayne Gallery, and the Torrance Art Museum. His series of cutout drawing-installations have been shown at LA Freewaves, Cerritos College Art Gallery, and Otis College.”
