Targét

Age: 22

Location: Austin, Texas

About:

“My name is Targét and I’m a newish performer in the Austin scene. I got my start about 3 years ago, when I was 19, at a local drag competition. Obviously, since a large portion of that was during the pandemic, I got to experiment/explore with my drag and polish myself. I was able to try a lot of new things and practice different skills which have definitely made me a better artist. I would say I’m a very versatile artist…I don’t have one certain aesthetic I stick to. I love to paint pretty and do my Lady Gaga numbers, but I’m always down to clown and try new things. My biggest inspiration comes from club kids and late 90’s/early 2000s fashion shows…so, I always pull a lot of references from that era. I love the art of drag and hope to do it full-time one day, but at the same time, I try not to take it too seriously because I want to have fun and enjoy what I’m doing. For me, drag is such a great outlet for emotions and is almost therapeutic in a way. Drag really has helped me throughout life/hardships and to be able to get the opportunity to do it every week for an audience that appreciates what I do is super fulfilling. I love being on stage showcasing my art and hopefully, I’ll get the chance to travel to other cities/states to perform for more clubs and meet new people!”
