The design team know for the fantastically shrinking men’s suit is having a problem selling their $5,000 outfits.
Thom Browne may be the latest casualty in the credit crunch that is closing down shops from Madison Ave to Seventh Ave. Apparently department stores and boutiques are canceling Browne’s orders due to lack of sell-through in past seasons- Which means TB, the sweetheart of fashion hipsters, might be facing bankruptcy. Last time we checked, we saw Browne’s design at 60 percent off at Barneys…which brought a bolero jacket down to about 3 grand.
