About:

“Crafted with dreams, love, and a whole lot of trauma, Lana Ja’Rae ( lingerie if ya nasty ) is my f**ck you to masculinity.

Growing up in a very religious and black household, the idea of being queer and chasing your dreams seemed very outlandish to me. So why not do the unthinkable? I stuck my middle finger up to toxic masculinity and went full throttle baby!

From a very young age, I had always felt ‘different’ but I couldn’t quite understand this feeling. I spent most of my younger years praying to be normal or for this feeling I felt on the inside to go away. I later came to identify this feeling I was feeling as my queerness, which I would soon come to embrace. When I was introduced to the art form of drag, I was immediately intrigued! It wasn’t until I moved out of my parents’ house at the age of 18, that Lana Del Rey’s black, cross-dressing cousin, twice removed on their father’s stepmother’s side was born.

It’s Lana’s World and we are all truly just living in it! What started as an idea, has turned into something I can’t even begin to express my gratitude for. Lana Ja’Rae is a combination of everything I love…fashion, make-up, design, performing, and modeling. My drag is a love letter to my younger self. If I were to describe my drag, I would say it’s definitely giving Rupaul’s Cattitude verse mixed with NYFW on a budget, mixed with slay pills yassified, but in the best way possible??

What’s next for Lana you may ask? Well, I plan on taking over the world, truly on my Doctor Heinz Doofenshmirtz behavior.

In all honesty, the future is bright! I pray that over the next couple of months I’m able to reach new heights in my drag that I never thought were possible. I hope to smile, laugh, evolve, elevate, cry ( tears of joy of course ) and most importantly I hope to remain perfectly imperfect. Cannot wait to keep violently smashing and pounding my genderfluid booty into the #slay button and making content everyone ( hopefully ) enjoys! The amount of love I’ve gotten over the last eleven months of doing drag has been something I could only Ja’ream about. I can’t wait to keep shaping myself into that black, openly queer, young, genderfluid role model for kids out there who need one…because I know I would’ve loved to have one growing up. Thank you all for your love and support…it truly means the most to this black queer they ❤️. Here’s to the future!”
